Our skilled Radiographer will instruct you to get changed (when necessary) and then guide you through optimal positioning in order to obtain the best possible images for your requested exam. They will use low dose Radiation to obtain the necessary images. The amount of radiation you’re exposed to during an X-ray will depend on the area being imaged. Generally, radiation exposure from an X-ray is low, and the benefits from these tests outweigh the risks.
Ultrasounds are generally painless non-invasive procedures and are non-radiating. During the exam, a qualified Registered Technologist will apply a water-based gel to the area of concern. They will then place the Transducer (imaging camera) on the skin and take specific images required for the ordered procedure using high frequency sounds waves.
