ULTRASOUND

Medical Diagnostic Imaging Clinic in Mississauga

Physicians Diagnostic Ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions”~ Mayoclinic.org

Ultrasounds are generally painless non-invasive procedures and are non-radiating. During the exam, a qualified Registered Technologist will apply a water-based gel to the area of concern. They will then place the Transducer (imaging camera) on the skin and take specific images required for the ordered procedure using high frequency sounds waves.

During Obstetrical Ultrasounds we welcome your partner, friends or family to join you in the room at the end of your procedure for routine examinations.

Some Ultrasounds require preparation prior to arriving at the clinic. Please be sure to review our Preparations Guidelines for your convenience.
